Christmas at the McKinneys'
|
Christmas in July (or April or February)
Several trees had to be rebuilt
due to faulty light strings. Lights,
or the lack of lights, more
accurately, is the 2009 theme.
A Christmas Sandwich Prior to leaving with Sean for the Mini-PLUS in Kansas City, Steve posed with two of the trees he had to rebuild.

Adding Another Window Frame Sean and Steve build another window frame to add to the new display.

Time Out for Halloween 2009
|
Once again Christmas prep was set aside for the howling fun of decorating for Halloween. Jack, the giant jack-o-lantern that sits above the cemetery, was hoisted to his home so he could reign over all the trick-or-treaters that come to see him.

We have been so blessed
in our lives and have
enjoyed hearing from so
many wonderful "fans". As
a way to give back to the
community we have begun
to offer our visitors the
opportunity to donate to
Interfaith Ministries or
the Kansas Humane
Society. People have
been so generous and it
warms our hearts to be a
conduit for helping those
in need.

KSN Channel 3 ran a very nicely edited
piece on the show. Steve was asked for
an interview and was hesitant to agree
because we always worry about creating
more problems for the neighbors, who
have been truly wonderful. We hope that
donations will increase as a result of the
publicity but also that visitors continue to
be kind and considerate of our
neighborhood and other viewers.
